Ray Brown was cleared by the MIAC on Tuesday and is completely eligible now to compete this season. There was a little question whether the four person committee would deem him ineligible. I'm glad it didn't have to go that route because it would have been a disaster for our conference. It would be like the Supreme Court making a ruling and then a county court reversing that decision.
Practice has been going very well. We have a couple of guys dinged up right with Jordan Schmidt out with a IT Band pain and Andy Voigt, with a broken nose (surgery yesterday and it went well). So, we are practicing with 12 guys and they have been getting after it. It's nice to look and see the guys playing hard on just about every possession.
Now it's time to play someone else. We scrimmage MCTC on Saturday morning. It's a great scrimmage for us because they will be extremely athletic and we know that their guys will play hard on every possession. On Nov. 9th we scrimmage St. Cloud State up at their place. We played well against them last year but their size and strength wore us down at the end. Hopefully, with our more talented players that won't be the case. They are predicted to finish first in the NSIC this year.
